CompuLab extends
CoM features with GPRS & GSM cellular connectivity.

HAIFA, ISRAEL – August 15, 2007
– Acknowledging the increased
demand of integrated solution for long distance wireless communication,
CompuLab expands Computer-on-Module features set with GPRS / GSM
cellular modem. Using regular public subscriber network
infrastructure, GPRS modem enables wireless data transmission to any
arbitrary destination. Voice communication is also fully supported,
practically implementing full featured cellular phone integrated
into the CoM.
The GPRS modem is integrated into new
revision (rev 2) of CM-X270W module, together with new WiFi and Bluetooth
features. The CM-X270W CoM also contains Intel's PXA270 CPU,
2700G Multimedia Controller, SDRAM, Flash Disk,
PCI bus, Ethernet, Audio, Touchscreen and many
other essential functions. The SBC-X270 - the PC/104+ computer
based on the CM-X270W module, also benefits from the ability to
offer GPRS, WiFi and Bluetooth as a new options of its features set.
Pricing and
Availability
Evaluation Kits of the CM-X270W / SBC-X270 with integrated GPRS will be available for sale
on 01-Oct-2007. The price of the GPRS option starts at $94 for 1K -unit
quantities.
