Trim-Slice Developer Updates

Trim-Slice Ubuntu 11.04 kernel updates are shipped via Trim-Slice Ubuntu repositories. There are two sets of repositories:

  • stable repository - for stable kernel releases
  • developers repository - for latest feature updates and bug fixes

Trim-Slice Ubuntu Repositories

Stable Repository

This repository includes stable versions that are incorporated into official Trim-Slice releases. Standard Trim-Slice Ubuntu 11.04 installation is preconfigured to access stable Trim-Slice Ubuntu 11.04 repository. In order to perform an upgrade to the up-to-date Trim-Slice kernel release perform the following steps:

  • ensure that /etc/apt/sources.list includes the following lines:
## Repository for Trim-Slice users provided by CompuLab
deb binary/
  • install updates if available
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

Developers Repository

This repository includes the latest developer kernel updates that are not yet incorporated into the official Trim-Slice release. By default this repository is not included in the standard Trim-Slice Ubuntu release. In order to evaluate the latest developer updates of Ubuntu 11.04 for Trim-Slice, perform the following steps:

  • update developers repository location for apt package manager by adding the following lines into /etc/apt/sources.list
## Developers repository for Trim-Slice users provided by CompuLab
deb binary/
  • refresh package manager
sudo apt-get update
  • install updates if available
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
