Anyone who reads this and has Debian Squeeze or Wheezy ARMEL running on the trimslice - could you tar up and share the file system you are currently using with me?

my steps.

1: armel base system install(squeeze)
2: using tasksel to intall a desktop enviroment
since tasksel is not so verbose, you can check what packages a task includes and then apt-get install.
3: install xserver-xorg-video-tegra ( add trimslice reposotiry to sourse.list and then apt-get or you can just download and install it using dpkg )
4: since abi version incompatible, manually uncompress tegra_drv.so
from abi 6 and copy it to /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/tegra_drv.so

I spent another 3 hours trying to get this to boot some form of Debian again today. Not sure what everyone else is doing that allows it to work that am I missing.

Never had this issue with any of the other ARM devices I've worked with Debian on.

I struggled for several days to make it work,
I tried armhf sid and cannot find armhf tegro grahpic driver .
thne I tryied armel sid and there are bugs about bluez? and downgraded some packages but then tegra driver worked but other input dirver will not work since version mismatch.
and it has been a very frustrating experience. donot feel so bad ;)

Jeff,
why not make a v7 install on another device (that works of course), all you need do as far as I am concerned is copy uImage, boot.scr, and /lib/modules from a working distro (with matching float and eabi of course). Developers private zone as hf drivers.

Tried that already. I've got 3 or 4 other ARM devices that have Debian running on them laying around.

Whenever I try to get the trimslice rolling it gets stuck in some sort of boot loop or gives kernel panic.

Is there something wrong with the uboot on my trimslice?

Image

This is the result off trying to boot a file system that another forum user had functional on their own trimslice. It gives similar errors to all the other debian setups I've tried to get running on this device.

Really if I could get this working it is perfect for my needs - I just NEED debian on it to be useful at all.

Input?

Just to try, if you are booting off sda1, my boot.scr
http://myplugbox.com/trimslice-sda1-boot.scr
rename to boot.scr (backup your old one)

I'm actually trying to boot off of an SD card - it just ends up booting off of sda1 cause it won't boot from the SD card.
