Post Uboot (2013-10)
For those of you who may be interested, I've started work on a newer Uboot :) . It is based on the FSL 2013-10 uboot repo. Code is in my repo and branch is 'patches-2013'.

Given I have a Utilite Pro, the current board configuration is for the Pro but should work on the Standard model. I've introduced a new board 'utilite_pro' instead of using the generic existing 'cm-fx6'. Code is in alpha state and a list of working (or should be working) features is below.

By default uboot will look for a boot.scr or uImage on the first SD FAT partition.

Latest binary images :
1. HDMI turned off
2. HDMI turned on (1024x768) .

Update 23/11/2013
----------------------------
1. SD card detection (hopefully works for all) .
2. Reads NOR Flash for existing uboot environment variables or can be configured to read from SD card.
3. imx6 ethernet phy.
4. SATA.
5. USB support.
6. Simple HDMI support.

The major piece of work remaining is to correctly configure the memory configuration settings (DCD) because I'm currently using the Nitrogen6x 2GB RAM config.

Update 27/11/2013
---------------------------
1. Add DCD setup for 2GB DDR3
2. Fix DRAM Bank settings as previous configuration was incorrect for Utilite.
3. tftp confirmed working.
4. i2c confirmed working.
5. usb storage detection confirmed working.

Nice work! Will your patches enter mainline of u-boot?

Please go on :!: :!: :!:
To get a new U-Boot with state-of-the-art features for the Utilite would be great!

Please work with the CompuLab team together, so that it is implemented in the mainline.

Greetings

Code has been fixed to correctly configure the memory settings (for Utilite Pro).

Test image available here with usb and hdmi (defaults to 1024 x 768) support. By default uboot looks for boot.scr and kernel on SD fat partition.

To use USB need to run 'usb start' in your uboot script to detect devices. Should be possible to load kernel from usb storage.

I've also verified 'tftp' is working.

A bit risky to put it on the SPI? :-)

Yes, not for uploading to your NOR flash :o . I did find a bug with the DRAM bank settings, fix uploaded tomorrow.

Silly question, but
how can I test it, without saving it in SPI?
Has anyone a link with more information?

You can install it on a SD card and boot from that. To copy it to the SD card in a linux shell do:

Code:
dd if=u-boot.imx bs=1k seek=1 of=/dev/<device> && sync

where <device> is the sd card device on your PC/latop.Be careful to select the correct <device> as I can't be response for data loss as a result of 'dd'ing to the wrong device.
