Post GPIO Lines
Even though the Utilite derives from the CM-FX6 Computer on Module which is loaded with GPIO lines, the Utilite itself apparently does not directly provide GPIO capability. This is consistent with a refined, cased system designed to be functional and compact with software development in mind.

If you need or want GPIO, why not outfit your Utilite with an external USB GPIO solution ? Numato Labs among others offer 8, 16, and 32 bit external GPIO boards based on a PIC micro-controllers. These external boards provide both digital and analog lines.

I frequently use external GPIO Eval Kit Boards with my Compulab FitPC3. I intend to do the same with my Utilite when it arrives.

Using an external GPIO solution should provide the best of both worlds - hardware and software development. Plus, if you accidentally smoke something on the GPIO board, Utilite lives on, ready for your next project.
