Post My WLAN doesn't work
Hello everyone, I finally got home my unit trimslice:
However, although the trim-slice operation is still room for improvement. In
my case, the WLAN does not work. not if it is not detected because they have no
driver or a module failure.
Anybody can confirm if the WLAN module works out-the-box or
While some things must be changed before starting the engine?
Anyone have any idea?
Thanks and regards

Same here, the command "lsusb" in gnome-terminal shows the presence of hardware but no driver is available. It's the same for the Bluetooth dongle.

Post Re: My WLAN doesn't work
I just read the forum thread:http://www.trimslice.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=106&sid=78b42f4d870d5089ea875225156e856d
However, the lsusb command does not just show the WLAN device.
Reproduce these lines that I obtained by running the command "lsusb"
Code:
trim@trimslice:~$ lsusb
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 05e3:0718 Genesys Logic, Inc.
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode)

Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Also reproduce the lines obtained by running the command "lsusb-t:
Code:
trim@trimslice:~$ lsusb -t

RT3070 and USB phy drivers are tested but not yet included in the distro. We are working on incorporating them.

I've just received a Trim Slice Value package which included a Ralink wireless USB device that doesn't have drivers present, even after I installed the latest kernel (1.03)

How do I compile these drivers myself? I'll try to dust of my kernel module compilation fu and will update here with any success.

Hello leec,

I'd like to have "lsusb" and "lsmod" outputs from the system, in order to clarify what the problem is. One more, your system has to have these binaries at /lib/modules/...
drivers/net/wireless/rt2x00/ rt2800lib.ko , rt2800usb.ko rt2x00lib.ko rt2x00usb.ko. Please, let me know whether it does.

Thanks in advances,
Val.
