Post Audio, S/PDIF and USB performance
We are planning to use the Trimslice as a high end audio streaming device. We are interested to know the following

1. Will the S/PDIF output support 24 bit 96 KHz (or even better 192 KHz)?

2. Can you inform us about the quality of the DAC in the Line out implementation, number of bits, sampling frequency etc.

3. If attaching a high quality external DAC via USB (It behaves as a PC USB soundcard), will we be able to transmit 24 bit 96 KHz data?

Best regards, Kurt

Hi,

(1) The S/PDIF output supports data rates of up to 24 bit, 96kHz.
(2) The line-out is implemented with a stereo codec featuring a 100-dB SNR multibit Sigma-Delta DAC and supporting sampling frequencies of up to 96kHz.
(3) The USB port is able to provide the necessary data-rates.

Best Regards,
Igor.

Thanks Igor, I guess there is not much to say about the quality of the line-out signal until we can try listening to it.

Another question, as far as I can see, there is no mic-in possiblity? We would need that for automatic room correction software in our application.

The Trim-Slice does not incorporate a mic-in, just a line-in.

Igor.

Aren't there external devices that could be used that would convert line-in port into working for mic-in?
