Post Network boot
I would like to setup up my TS in a diskless (cardless?) configuration, booting from a an NFS or TFTP server.
U-Boot supports this in general, but the U-Boot page in the TS wiki mentions booting only from the internal SPI flash or SD card.
Are there any plans to support booting from the network in the future?
Thanks,

Post Re: Network boot
Booting from network is supported with the current release. The documentation for that is not yet present.
You'll need to setup an TFTP server (for the kernel) and an NFS server (for the file-system) on your host.
Setting up TFTP should be pretty straight-forward.
For NFS setup you can refer to http://www.compulab.co.il/workspace/mediawiki/index.php5/Linux_Development_for_ARM_modules#Networked_Root_Filesystem

On the Trim-Slice, you'll need to over-ride the standard boot script with the following environment variables:
Code:
setenv bootcmd 'dhcp && tftp 4080000 192.168.0.100:uImage && bootm'

Code:
setenv bootargs 'root=/dev/nfs nfsroot=192.168.0.100:/export/fs mem=384M@0M mem=512M@512M nvmem=128M@384M vmalloc=248M video=tegrafb console=ttyS0,115200 kgdboc=kbd,ttyS0,115200 ekgdboc=kbd kgdbwait earlyprintk ip=dhcp'

The 192.168.0.100 IP address in the examples above is just for reference - you should substitute it with your host IP.

For additional details, please refer to http://www.denx.de/wiki/view/DULG/LinuxNfsRoot.
