So I've come back to the trimslice now that I have some spare time and after using a combination of the instructions at the debian wiki and the arch wiki I have finally gotten Debian stable to boot on the device.

For some reason though when booted into debian the system does not see the wired network connection - any ideas why this might be? The following are some related outputs:

root@trimslice:/etc/network# ifconfig

/etc/network/interfaces file:

root@trimslice:/etc/network# uname -r

Any input/ideas would be great!

I had this same problem. The solution is that you simply need to spin up eth0 with ifconfig, for instance:

ifconfig eth0 <ip-address>

eth0 should now show up in the ifconfig output. If this doesn't work, you are missing the kernel modules that go with the Trim-Slice kernel. In this case, the easiest way to get them is to build the kernel from source as described in the wiki: ... nux_Kernel

ifocnfig w/out parameters shows only configured and up interfaces.
Make use of ifconfig -a in order to display all interfaces which are currently available, even if down.
